  • Keep it sharp: hold steady and let your camera focus before snapping.
  • Clean lens: a quick wipe can dramatically improve clarity.
  • Flat ticket: wrinkles/creases can break up dot‑matrix text.
Why a ticket might not scan: faded dot‑matrix printing, heavy creases, low resolution, glare, or missing date/team text.
